Airport Maafaru Int. – newly opened in Maldives

Maafaru is the first international airport at northern Maldives, located in Noonu Atoll, officially opened on 1 December 2019.

Consisting of a 2200-meter runway, 40 meters wide. Apron is with shoulder and service roads to accommodate commercial aircraft the size of Airbus A320s and the Boeing 737s. Airport also includes a maintenance hangar, speedboat docking hangar and VIP private jetty.

Maafaru Int. is equiped with VFR approach and from 15.10.2020 customs are available. Fuel infrastructure is still not finished – so for fuel pickup aircraft needs to fly to Male.
